This week was spent at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Mellon University. It was a 0 to light speed course in a basic language called Alice. The demand for CS students is high, the pay is great, but around 40% drop out rate in the 1st year. Alice is designed to give an exciting motivation to todays students, while teaching them to code, and reducing the drop out rate. In a few days, a student can produce a great animation (the motivation) using code (traditionally not so engaging). Here are screen shots of the next big thing
