Sunspots.
Twenty-five hundred to fifty thousand mile diameter dark spots.
Appearing to us on Earth as merely dots.
Moving across the sun’s surface,
These spots are cooler with purpose.
Concentrations of magnetic field,
With temperatures of roughly two thousand seven hundred twenty-seven to four thousand two hundred twenty-seven degrees Celsius they yield.
Contracting and expanding as they go.
A lifetime of hours to months they show.
They arch through the sun’s corona in a pair.
Thirty degrees either side of the sun’s equator they glare.
Like magnets they have two poles.
Upon the sun’s photosphere they appear as onyx like jewels.
